I rarely have a Saturday off. But I do love to shoot. And so when my friend Linda Trudeau asked me if I was free that weekend to help her out at a wedding, I hesitated just a wee bit at the prospect of giving up my one free Saturday in three months. The clincher? It was a pressure free gig with an absolutely beautiful couple at a historical building in downtown Berkeley. This beautiful Berkeley City Club building was designed and built in 1929 by architect Julia Morgan who was the architect of “Hearst Castle.” So I just had to go.  And am I glad I did. Here are my favorites from the day.

California Academy of Sciences December 7, 2008

I had been dying to go the New California Academy of Sciences for some months now. Finally I found a pocket of free-time to go with the family. My favorite exhibits were the planetarium and the Philippine corral reef. If you have some free time and no where to go, do check it out. You might actually learn something new.=)

Over the summer, I had the opportunity to work and collaborate with lots of talented photographers in the Bay Area. Second shooting always keeps you on your toes: as each photographer is different in terms of shooting style and direction. Each event coverage is a learning experience in itself.

I had the pleasure of working with talented photographer Sylvia Fife for this August wedding. This wedding just spelled fun, fun, fun as the couple were truly psyched and excited to be married and photographed. Here are my favorite photos from the wedding.

Print wins Best Studio Portrait at PPGBA August 16, 2007

Yehey! My print of my husband and son won a Gold Ribbon in the Studio Portrait category for the July monthly competition at PPGBA. I wasn’t really planning on competing the print but since I didn’t prepare anything that month – I literally tore it off my walls and brought it to the monthly meeting. I’m glad I did.
